The story
Freshly engaged, Jake and Sophie drive to a lake house for a quiet week. Their host is Sophie’s mother, Veronica Parker, polished and quick-witted, and with her husband delayed again, she runs the place her way.
Wine on the deck, a dance with the man about to marry her daughter, a joke that lands too well. Over five episodes the holiday slides into an affair, and every close call risks the wedding before her husband even shows up.
