The story
In this kingdom, a hand on the queen means death. So the court holds its breath when the young queen passes over her knights and picks Kale, a stable boy barely sworn into her guard, to stand outside her chambers every night.
She picked him because he is the only one who dares to look at her. The law forbids him to touch her; it doesn’t say what she may do. Five episodes of candlelight, whispers and a guard whose hardest duty is standing still.
